Grief & Bereavement
“And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed .We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.”
For every person, grief is as unique and intricate as a snowflake. Yet within each delicate crystal can be found the same need for this grief to be seen. Those who are grieving do not seek to lessen or to reframe their grief—we want to feel it; we need others to witness it. As David Kessler says, we share a common need “for someone to be fully present to the magnitude of [our] loss without trying to point out the silver lining.”
Allow me to be your witness. My hope is to walk alongside you as you navigate the difficult terrain of grief.
Together, we’ll work within four important Pillars of Care:
Communication:
We’ll discuss the physical, emotional, and mental changes you may experience as you walk the difficult terrain of grief.
Together we’ll formulate a plan that includes resources and supports that you may find comforting during your time of deep grief and intensive self care.
Community:
We can create and connect you to community, including resource building, so that you are well supported.
We can create a plan that incorporates your family and friends so that they know how to best support you/your loved ones at this time.
Care:
Together, we'll move through resources and tools that you can continue to use to integrate self care and support at this time.
Connection:
When walking difficult paths, we often have trouble expressing what we feel. Through different forms of creative expression, the creation of legacy projects and exploring the power of holding sacred space; we can help to move our emotions from our internal world to the external. This ultimately helps us to clarify our intentions, honor our experience, and create an anchor to return to in difficult times. Together we can remain connected to our loved ones and gently move from feeling stuck into a place of acceptance.
